Pretend it’s August. The last few weeks of summer are coming to an end, and you switch your mindset to academics instead of how to create the perfect tan at the beach. With that mindset, some of the students at CDM started thinking about details such as what they are going to wear on the first day of school. Interested myself, I chose to take it upon myself to ask some of my fellow peers what they were thinking of when deciding on what seems like the biggest question asked on August 21 around 8:00 pm. “What are you going to wear tomorrow?” Senior, Bridget Morgan has a schedule just for this inquiry. “I like to have an idea the night before what I’m going to wear but I change my mind pretty often in the morning. It takes a couple of minutes to decide.” Sophomore, Katie Rinker also plans her outfits the night before school, and both girls ended up wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I wanted to get a better understanding of the items bought for this 2021/22 school year, so I asked Bridget and Katie a few more questions:

Who and what were your back-to-school shopping inspiration? Any Celebs?

Katie: “My inspo for shopping was the current trends but making sure that they were all comfy so I could wear them in class”

Bridget: “My inspiration for back to school shopping was what Madwell was carrying”

What’s the thing/item you wear most commonly to school?

Katie: “I mostly wear jeans, sweats, and T-shirts to school every day”

Bridget: “I wear my ripped mom jeans most to school”

What stores did you shop at when considering where to buy new clothes?

Katie: “I shopped at Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and Pacsun”

Bridget: “ I shopped at Madewell, Nordstrom, and Lululemon for clothes”

Did you buy any copies of items you already had? If so, what?

Katie: “I didn’t buy any copies of clothes, but i did buy 4 of the same composition notebooks”

Bridget: “I bought halter tops in white, black, and grey!”

What’s the most unique item you bought?

Katie: “ I bought a whole tub of Aquaphor because my lips get so chapped throughout the day. It’s a big tub”

Bridget: “ I bought a fun printed skort!”

What would you consider your style to be?

Katie: “My style is random videos on TikTok that I copied”

Bridget: “I would say my style is simple yet mature”

What’s your go-to school outfit?

Katie: “My go-to school outfit would be jeans and a tank top”

Bridget: “My go-to outfit would be jeans and a t-shirt with a cardigan”

Grasping a better idea of what some CdM students bought for this school year, I can confidently say that I bought the right pieces to create cute- school outfits for the 2021-22 school year!
