Yes, Tame Impala really is just one guy, and on November 11th, 12th, and 17th, he visited sunny-side California and performed at the notorious Kia Forum in Inglewood. His tour started in New York on April 6th, 2025, and is ending in Europe on May 7th, 2026, and is meant to commemorate his 5th album, “Deadbeat.” The tour is well-known for its psychedelic experience and embellished visuals, and has overall made a lasting impression on his fanbase.
Sophomore Sienna O’Byrne, who saw Tame Impala on November 12th, comments on what inspired her to see him, “Tame Impala has been one of my favorite artists, and I feel like he has a really good fanbase and a lot of good songs that made me want to go with my friends.” O’Byrne says the energy was “warm and welcoming. I had pit tickets and even the people there were very calm and collected, and it was really just a great time.” “My favorite song they played was The Less I Know the Better, because it’s been one of my favorite songs for a very long time, and even though it’s overplayed I feel like he did a really good job with it and brought a stage presence with it that he didn’t have with his other songs.” O’Byrne says she got her outfit inspiration from Pinterest, and to conclude she believes the best part of the concert was: “towards the end, when he really started bringing out a lot of his bangers and songs everyone knew. Hearing the whole crowd and seeing that energy was really special.”
Tara Sharifzadeh, who is also a sophomore and went with O’Byrne, states she has: “always loved Tame Impala. I’ve liked him since middle school, and then on TikTok, I saw he was going on tour, so I knew I needed to go.” Whilst describing the energy, similar to O’Byrne’s response, Sharifzadeh notes: “Everyone was super excited, and I was in the pit too, so everyone around me was super upbeat and it was really fun to be around.” “I think Let it Happen was my favorite song because the confetti went off, and it was just such a nice vibe and a nice way to end the show.” When asked how she planned her outfit, Sharifzadeh remarks that she: “Went on Pinterest a little bit and I did some scouring on TikTok, and found out everyone did a kind of rave theme outfit, so that’s what I went for.” To conclude, Sharifzadeh says the most memorable part of the concert was: “When Tame Impala walked by. Because we were in the barricade, he walked right by us, and we got to, like, you know, put our hands out, and he high-fived us, and that was really cool.”
Tame Impala is a very unique artist and has been a hit artist since his debut in 2010. Impala’s discography is unique already, and his new album, Deadbeat, with synth-like songs such as Dracula, has only enhanced it. There is no question that Tame Impala’s impact on psychedelic pop music will be everlasting.
