Spring break is traditionally a break filled with travels to many different places, with many Corona del Mar students traveling to places like Cabo, Hawaii, and Palm Springs. Spring break is always a much-needed break for many students especially with AP exams quickly approaching. The break allowed students to take a week and rest before finishing out the remainder of the school year. It also allowed students to get ahead on upcoming assignments and projects and for many of the juniors, spring break was filled with college tours.

Junior Matei Yarchiever spent his spring break in Miami, Florida. He had a great experience in Miami where he “went to nice restaurants and played a lot of golf.” He also met Shaquille O’Neal at one of his dinners, when they were seated next to each other. Yarchiever’s favorite part of the trip was, “playing golf at the Trump Doral” as it is a very nice course.

Junior Ashley Riba went to Santa Barbara as well as a ranch in California called Alisal. While traveling she had the opportunity to visit family and relax. Like many students at Corona del Mar, Riba had felt, “burnt out before break started” she shared that, “break allowed [her] to dedicate time to [herself] to reset and refocus before the semester ends.” Riba shared that, “the best part of her trip was seeing [her] cousins because [she] had not seen them for a long time. [They] were able to catch up and speed time together.”

Overall spring break was a much-needed rest for Corona del Mar students and gave time for students to relax and regroup before taking on the remainder of the semester. Whether students traveled around the globe or soaked up the sun locally, hopefully, all Sea Kings are prepared to finish off the rest of the year strong!
