After Gray plays “This Song,” he chooses a fan from the crowd (normally the pit) and breaks a wishbone with them. The person who got the long end of the wishbone chose between two songs displayed on the stage screen. Each show got different pairs to choose from, and the songs ranged between “Fight or Flight,” “Astronomy,” “Alley Rose,” “The Exit,” “Sunset Tower,” and “Care.”
Sophomores Sadi Ballard and Solenne Fournier recently went to the San Diego show on October 4th. “[She really likes] Conan Gray because [she enjoys] his music and the message that he sends his fans,” explains Ballard. Fournier appreciates Conan Gray as well, since she believes that “his music is pretty relatable and he knows how to convey his feelings well.” Both Ballard and Fournier had songs they wanted to hear, but he did not play. Ballard lamented that he did not play “Footnote” and many songs from his album Superache, while Fournier was disappointed that she did not get to hear “Astronomy” live. However, during this show, Olivia Rodrigo got to break the wishbone with Conan Gray, and Ballard “was really happy [she] got to see her, [she wishes] they played a song together, though.”
