“I spy with my little eye…” goes the song many Sea Kings spent their childhood singing, popularized by Music.ly, the artist KYLE has become a well-known name from his two largest hits “ispy” and “I Don’t Want to Fall in Love”. The last time KYLE went on tour was in 2018, so when he announced that he was going back on tour fans sprung at the chance to see the so-called Super Duper KYLE. As he explained at his concert last Friday, he went back on tour because of this long break from performing. He missed his fans and the community they provide.

Tickets were listed at the reasonable price of $30 to attend the concert on March 11 at the Observatory in Santa Ana, a convenient situation for a highschooler bored on a Friday night. Senior Ella Cecil described the concert as an amazing experience saying that she, wants “to go to another concert at the Observatory as soon as possible. The people around [her] were all so nice and friendly” like the community KYLE mentioned earlier.

The opener, Leven Kali, came on stage to a small audience as many people had yet to show up. Kali, a small artist, sang all of his biggest hits and then informed the crowd that it would be about thirty minutes until KYLE would enter the stage. The crowd dispersed to talk, take photos, or grab some water.

Thirty minutes later KYLE entered the stage ready to perform. He sang all of his biggest songs as well as spent a chunk of time talking to the audience, which added a personal touch. He concluded the night by riding through the crowd on a foam surfboard. Junior, Ryleigh Snow was helping hold up the surfboard and afterward claimed that “it was the coolest experience holding KYLE in the air while he sang one of his songs.” All in all, going to concerts at the Observatory is a great way to spend a weekend night, making new friends, dancing, and listening to live music! Keep an eye on Ticketmaster to see which artists are coming to Santa Ana next!
