Rally Season: Senior Edition

Rally Season: Senior Edition
After a covid induced dry spell of school spirit, rally season is finally amidst us again. ASB has been working hard in order to put on an in-person senior exclusive rally, making this the first of the year and the last of their high school careers. The leaders of CdM have been doing all they can to assure that the beloved class of 2021 goes out with a bang, finishing their school year off together one last time at school before graduation. Natalie Moorhead, CdM junior and three-year ASB member give the details about the upcoming rally this June.

“This upcoming senior rally will be a little different from the rallies we’ve seen in the past. One thing that makes it exciting and different from all the rallies we’ve had this year is that it’s in person, and will be held in the gym,” Natalie begins. ASB has put on three online rallies this year, filming performance groups and editing it all together in order to keep somewhat of an annual tradition, pulling off a Halloween, Holiday, and Clash of the Classes rally. “The major difference between other in-person rallies and this one is that it has reduced capacity and students need to reserve their seats in advance. Since we have limited capacity, only seniors will be allowed at the physical rally, but will be available digitally either through a video or live stream for anyone else.” Tickets to the rally have been and are currently available for free at the ASB window for seniors only. “As far as safety precautions go, students will be required to wear masks, and maintain distance. There are two different performances, to allow for more reduced capacity, and the reservation system makes sure that there will not be too many students at the rally. Students will also have to be spread out throughout the bleachers, no more junior boys mobbing in the back of the junior section,” Moorhead continues. They’re doing all they can to keep the event safe and manageable, following guidelines and taking necessary precautions to take the next step into having an actual event. “I’m very excited for the rally. I’ve put a lot of work into this rally, and so has all of ASB, and I think it’s going to be a really good one. I’m really happy that seniors will get to experience one more rally before leaving CdM. Students should expect an amazing rally! Like everything this year, this rally will be unique, but will still showcase the same performances and energy that previous in-person rallies have had.”
