It’s a wrap! The Senior class of 2019 CDM is getting ready to say their goodbyes and walk across the stage at UCT Bren Center on June 20, 2019. This stellar graduating class is leaving behind big shoes to fill for the rising seniors in the years to come.

It was undoubtedly been a year of carnage, with the recent college admissions cheating scandals, and the forever rising bar to get into acclaimed colleges. It was a year of surprises, and listening to seniors talk about their perspectives of matters has been quite intriguing to say the least. All this mayhem begged the words of wisdom from this graduating class of seniors.

When asked what they would say as advice to their underclassmen, a senior named Jaida Morgan said, “Never give up when things get tough, because there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Above all, stay true to yourself because people change a lot throughout high school, so you can’t always depend on the people around you to stick by you through thick and thin”.

Two members of the CDM sailing team offered these pieces of advice: Max Mayol stated that you should “Take in every second of high school, it goes by quicker than you think”, and David Wood said, “The biggest piece of advice I would give anyone about high school would be not to get caught up in AP’s and to focus on being a well rounded student. The one thing I would do differently is be more involved in clubs and groups within CDM.”

Similarly, another senior Amanda Reynoso contributed by saying, “Be confident in yourself, spend time with those who truly care about you, and don’t get so caught up in academics”.

One east coast bond senior, Maria Yocca tells underclassmen, “Education is what you make of it, you’re going to get back exactly what you put in. If you’re not taking care of yourself mentally and physically, you won’t be able to do your best. Please put your health first because the rest will follow. I wish I took better care of myself throughout high school”.

After the harsh year the seniors have had with different projects and college admissions, they will finally walk away from CDM and onto pursuing their dreams.
