We are now in the midst of track season, as the athletes are competing on a weekly basis with other schools, districts and divisions. On Wednesday March 20th, CdM raced in a dual meet against Laguna Beach High School and Won.

There are quite a few events that take place at these meets, and they occur in a certain order. For example, the sequence of events usually begins with the 1600M or the 4X4 relay, and ends with the 3200M. All of the events in between are consisted of hurdles, the four by one, field events, sprints and the 800M.

The weather was predicted be rainy, however the sun was prevalent throughout the competition, which was beneficial to those who raced. Setting personal records is also quite important to the athletes and coaches, because it shows true effort paying off. Many runners PRed at this race, which is a great milestone to build off of as well.

CdM came in strong as the varsity, JV and frosh-soph athletes did their absolute best in the events in which they train for. The students prepare for these events by meeting after school at the track, where they work hard to improve their racing times and get ready for the next event. This determination is what brought CdM to win the dual meet against Laguna.
