Over the weekend of March 9, the Corona del Mar High School (CdMHS) Girls Junior Varsity (JV) lacrosse team competed in a competitive three games at Esperanza High School. The three teams they played were Los Alamitos JV 1, Esperanza JV, and Beckman JV.

At the beginning their first game against Los Alamitos JV 1, Jilly Senk got the ball after the draw. She cradled the ball down the field and passed it around. The CdM team went for the goal and scored a point. CdM achieved the ball again from the draw and got sprinted for a clear shot and they added another point towards the score. Unfortunately, the opposing team had scored two points to make the score tied. Throughout the game, each team scored more points. Sadly, CdM barely lost by 6 to 7.

The next game against the Esperanza JV team was immediately after the previous game, so the players were a little tired. CdM had previously played against Esperanza, not in a tournament, two weeks before. The game started and Senk scored two point right away. During the next draw, Esperanza got ahold of the ball and passed it around the field. They ended up scoring a point. In the middle of the game, both teams evenly scored. CdM ended up winning by one point with a score of 5 to 4.

In the last game, against Beckman High School, CdM was determined to win. Jilly Senk got ahold of the ball and passed it to Lauren Westrick. She threw the ball into the goal, giving the first point to CdM. During the game, two CdM players and one Beckman player were given a yellow card. After a while the players eventually went back into the game. By the end of the game, the score was tied 3 to 3. Unfortunately, the referee gave the other team a chance to score. The player scored against the goalie and the game ended 3 to 4.
