On the week of February 4th, Corona del Mar (CdM) held the tryouts for lacrosse. Anyone who was interested in lacrosse took the time to go. All of the days of tryouts lasted from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Since it had rained on Monday the 4th, the fields were too wet to play so it was canceled. But the next four days, each player tried their very best to make the team.

On the first day of tryouts, the players began with a twenty minute warm-up including a lap around the field. They then ran a timed mile which took up 15 minutes of tryouts. Every player was then handed five sheets of the same piece of paper. The paper was for each coach to evaluate their level of lacrosse. They were to write the number of their jersey, their mile time, their position on the field, and the number of years they have been playing. One of each piece of paper was given to each of the five different coaches. Players then split into a line of passing shuttles by their grade. They then split into two different groups and scrimmaged against each other for the rest of practice, with breaks in between so the players could cool down and get a drink of water.

The next day, the players warmed up and split into small groups to play possession, where both teams try to get the ball and pass it around. After, they scrimmaged against each other in larger teams.

On the third day, the players split into groups to play competitive games where two players try to get the ball and score in the goal against the goalie. Finally, on the last day of tryouts, they ran another mile and scrimmaged in one big game for the rest of the tryout.

There were only two teams for them to make: Junior Varsity and Varsity. On Friday night, the coaches let the players know if they made the team through a remind text.
