Coming up next week is Presidents Break. It is also known as “Ski Week” because so many people decide to go to the snow and hit the slopes instead of staying in the hot weather. Many people want to go skiing, but do not know where to go, so down below are the best rate ski places in California, with details about why they are so highly rated.

Mammoth Lakes:

Mammoth Lakes is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Do to the cold winter season the mountain has a ton of snow. On the mountain, people can ski, snowboard, and go sledding. According to Tripadvisor.com it is rated as a 4.5 out of 5. Although it is pricy, it is worth visiting. Mammothmountain.com says that the mountain has a summit elevation of 11,053 ft and a base elevation of 7,953. With 150 named trails and 25 lifts, it could be a whole week of fun. On the mountain, there are 8 parks with 100+ jibs, 50+ jumps, and 3 halfpipes. It is best for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, but there is trails for beginners.

Squaw Valley Resort:

With a summit of 165 feet and a base of 118 feet, the slopes are a very popular spot to ski. There are 42 different trails to choose from and 21 different ski lifts to ride. Although at the moment it has zero open parks, people that visit can tube, ride snowmobiles, ski, snowboard, shop, dine, go to a yoga studio, and much more. Tripadvisor.com rate the Squaw Valley Resort as a 4 out of 5. It got a slightly lower rating than Mammoth Mountain, but it is a great alternative if you do not want to head up to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Both of these resorts are great options to go and visit during Ski Week. Do not be afraid to leave the beach for even two days to go hit the slopes. It will be worth your while.
