On Friday, January 18, the girls’ wrestling traveled to Beckman High School once again to compete in the girls four-way duals. Several schools were represented, including Beckman, Corona Del Mar, Cathedral City, Irvine, and many more. The duals were an exciting chance for the girls to compete and prepare for CIF. All of the girls on the team went: Kiersten Muse, Bella Walsh, Lauren von Aspen, Josclyn Virrey, and Angelina García. The girls had several wins, with senior Kiersten Muse performing particularly exceptionally, winning both of her matches.

January and February are the busiest months of the year for the winter wrestling season, as the number of events coming up for boys’ and girls’ wrestling reflects. On Saturday, January 26, the girls will compete once again in their last tournament before the CIF qualifiers, the Lady Cavalier Invitational at Montclair high school. On the same day, the boys will compete in the CIF league duals for the chance to represent their school in the CIF duals. The CIF qualifiers for the girls are on February 9 at 10 am at El Toro High School, and CIF qualifiers for the boys are on February 7 at Citrus Hill.
